The Development Services Department is responsible for land use issues covering the unincorporated areas of the Peace River Regional District.

The department includes:

Long range planning includes the development of official community plans which are an expression of community objectives and Regional Board policy. Staff implement the policies of the Regional Board through regulations such as zoning and building inspection. The department also provides administrative services for processing Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) applications in addition to responding to public inquiries and referrals from other government agencies.
